Monte Xanic Calixa Cabernet Sauvignon / Syrah

DESCRIPTION

A classic new-world blend of two bold grapes, showcasing the Valle de Guadalupe terroir with its sun drenched vineyards and
sandy granite soils. This is a bountiful wine with flavors of ripened blackberries, tart bing-cherries and a subtle floral note of violets
& fragrant lilacs. Truly a delicious crowd pleaser with or without food.

80% Cabernet Sauvignon & 20% Svrah.

MATURATION TYPE & TIME

Aged for 9 months in second and third use French oak barriques to preserve primary aromas.

PAIRING

Serve alongside your favorite comfort foods such as grilled burgers, pepperoni
pizza or pasta. Excellent when served with Mexican dishes such as Mole sauce
enchiladas, meatball stew in a hearty chipotle sauce and carnitas tacos with all
the fixings. This wine can stand up to the intense flavors of most spicy dishes quite
well. Incredible with BBQ

TASTING NOTES

A limpid wine with medium-layer violet tones and deep cherry color.

NOSE

It's a frank and expressive wine with high intensity and great aromatic quanty. This
hearty wine is highlighted by the aroma of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and
tart Bing cherry, interlaced with the signature licorice tone. The nose is complemented by a subtle floral note of violets and fragrant lilacs, sitting upon a
bottom layer of Mediterranean herbs.

PALATE
Dry on the palate with fresh acidity. Dense and chewy. A truly delicious crowd
pleaser. Well-balanced with a long persistent finish. It is a full-bodied wine
with silky round tannins.
